Q) Do I need an appointment to get a pedicure?

A) Schedule your pedicure in advance. We do welcome ?walk-in? customers; however, you?ll have less stress and far less chance of a long wait if you make an appointment in advance.

Q) Is there anything I need to bring for my pedicure?

A) Bring a pair of open-toed shoes, such as thong sandals. Avoid wearing tight-legged pants that make it difficult to roll up adequately. And although we have a wide variety of a polish selection, feel free to bring in your favorite shade.

Q) How long will my pedicure take?

A) Allow a full hour for your pedicure. It may only take less than an hour to finish but you’ll want to make sure your toes are completely dry before leaving.

Q) Can you get a pedicure if you have a foot fungus?

A) No. To prevent the possible spread of the fungus to other clients, we do not provide pedicures to anyone with a foot fungus or open sores. This is for your protection and as well as ours.

Q) Do you use razor blades during your pedicure?

A) No. First of it, is illegal to use any pedicure tool with a razor blade in the State of Michigan. This is also very dangerous, due to the fact that it could remove and damage healthy skin.

Manicure FAQs
Q) How do I prepare for my manicure?

A) There's not much to do to prepare for a manicure. It's a courtesy to wash your hands. You might want to take off your rings, and remove any traces of old nail polish. This will stop the beautician wasting valuable manicure-time doing it herself, so that she can get on with the good stuff!

Q) If my hand is injured, can I get a manicure?

A) If you have an injury to your hand - a wound, or joint or muscle strain, or a rash or broken skin - you are well advised to wait until you recover before you go, or else make your manicurist very aware of your limitations.

Q) How long should I expect my manicure to take?

A) A manicure can last from 30 minutes to more than an hour, depending on what you're having done. Leave yourself enough time to get the full benefit of the treatment, and make sure you don't have to rush off. If for any reason it takes longer, it's hard to drive with sticky polish still drying on your fingers!

Q) Do I need to provide my own polish?

A) No. We have over 120 different colors to select from at Posh. If you have a favorite color of polish however, you are more than welcome to bring your own. But beware: Shop-bought nail polish often takes at most 5 minutes to dry, salon polish can take up to 3 hours to dry completely. So be gentle with your hands and nails afterwords.

Q) Can I receive a manicure if I have a fingernail fungus?

A) No. For our protection and ours we recommend that you wait to receive your manicure until after the fungus as been treated.

Q) Is your acrylic safe?

A) Yes. There are places that use dental acrylic, which is illegal in the State of Michigan. Due to the extreme hardness of that type of acrylic it is very damaging to your nail and could potentially harm your nail in the event the nail should break. We only use best acrylic available on the market.

Q) Do you use electric instruments on the nails?

A) Yes. We only use a tool that removes debris from underneath the nail; however, we are extremely careful not to disrupt the nail bed tissue. We do not use the electric style of filing because of the trauma to the nail surface and the possible cross contamination from one person to another.

Q) How long does it take for a full set of acrylic nails?

A) It takes approximately 1 ½ hour to 2 hours for a full set.

Q) Can I receive an acrylic fill if I already have a full-set of acrylic nails from another salon?

A) No. This is because we can’t guarantee that our acrylic will adhere to the materials that where used by the other salon.

Waxing FAQs
Q) How long should my hair be for waxing?

A) For waxing services we do prefer the hair to have at least 2.5 to 3 weeks of growth. Your hair should be at least ¼ of an inch in length.

Q) What are the benefits of waxing?

A) It is an effective method to remove large amounts of hair at one time. Hair in waxed areas will not grow back for 2 to 5 weeks. When hair is shaved or removed by depilatory cream, the hair is removed at the surface rather than the root. Within a few days, the hair can be seen at the surface.

A) Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, underarm, back, abdomen and feet. If waxing is done regularly for several years, permanent hair reduction may be achieved.

Q) How long should will my tint last?

A) Expect to see results up to about 4 to 6 weeks. The reason for this is that your eyelashes naturally fall out according to the growth cycle of lashes, each person will vary.

Q) Will tinting my eyelashes be painful?

A) The treatment should be virtual painless. The dye can sometimes cause your eyes to be irritated and/or slightly sting, but this will not last long. Eyelash tinting is not for everyone because some people have skin allergies or extremely sensitive skin with color additives or hair dye.

A) A typical eyelash tinting takes around twenty minutes. Because of this, tinting your eyelash can fit into the busiest of schedules.
